Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, applicants must be Swiss-registered for-profit start-ups (operating for at least one year) or small to medium-sized enterprises with up to 250 full-time equivalent employees.

Innovation Award

Transformative Innovation

Demonstrates how transformative is the solution compared to existing alternatives, acting as a catalyst for larger change.

Systemic Change

This criteria demonstrates the potential to impact and contribute to broader industry transformation and policy influence. 

Financial Viability & Scalability

This criteria captures whether the business model is viable as well as the innovation's potential for growth. 

Human Factor

This criteria presents the skills and profiles behind the idea. 

Environment Award

Environmental Impact

The organisation demonstrates the quantifiable environmental benefits of its product or service.

Systemic Change

This criteria demonstrates the potential to impact and contribute to broader industry transformation and policy influence. 

Profitability & Scalability

This criteria captures whether the business model is viable as well as the innovation's potential for growth

Human Factor 

This criteria presents the skills and profiles behind the idea. 

Public Choice Award

The 10 finalists from the Innovation and Environment categories will be put to a public vote. The most voted business will receive extended tailored coaching to further develop its impact strategy. The coaching implies one check in call to understand the needs, support for impact assessment and improvement, connections with relevant experts or contacts within the B Lab Impact network and coaching calls if needed.
